Testimonial for Glendale

07.14.2014

My name is Willie Thedor Briggs. I am a resident of the Glendale Assisted Living Facility. I have been here just over a year. I was in rehab and had a conversation with Ms. Kristy Worbetter and Mr. Keith Stroder because I was searching for a better place to call home. The Glendale Assisted Living Facility offered me a chance to enrich my character and improve my life. I spent thirty-two years as a professional Social Studies Teacher in the Toledo Public School System and retired due to serious illness with my health and personal problems. I was searching for a better way. I must admit that I knew very little about assisted living, but after a visit here my mind was made up and I signed on the dotted line. The Glendale Assisted Living Facility has offered me numerous activities including: card games, Wii Bowling, socialization skills with other residents of different races and ages along with different field trips. When I came here my overall goal was not to stay in my room and wither away. I wanted to be as active and positive as possible. Although I grew up in the inner city, I was never allowed to get out and explore all of my surroundings. I believe that my health and wellbeing has improved dramatically. I have a flare of light that had dimmed during my long career in the classroom. I wish to thank every person at Glendale for lighting the way. I especially want to thank Mrs. Jodie Kimball for rekindling the spirit within me. Finally, The Glendale Assisted Living Facility has boosted my social, economic, political and spiritual flare for a better life. Borrowing words from the musical "The sound of Music, Climb every mountain, force every stream, and follow every rainbow till you find your dream". I've found that here at The Glendale. So thank you Meridian and to Linda, Keith, Kristy, Alex, Jodi, Paula, Ellen, Pete and the nurses and the rest of our royal/loyal staff. You are marvelous!
